I'm leaving on a jet plane...

The suitcase is packed...the goodbyes have been said and I am all ready to get on that plane to Africa! I would not be flying over the great blue tomorrow if it wasn't for all of the amazing and supportive people in my life. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Whether it was encouraging me to take the plunge and sign up for the program, donating money or offering thoughts and prayers, I couldn't have done it without you!

As I was running around town today taking pictures of Williamson to put in a scrapbook to show the people and children of Ghana, I realized how I had forgotten how beautiful our small community truly is. Sometimes in the hustle and bustle of life we forget the true beauty of our surroundings. I was amazed at the beautiful apple trees and lake reflecting the cloud filled sky. Even in my small white church I took notice to the quaint pews and beautiful organ. It is my mission while traveling to take notice of the small stuff. To not only see, but to listen to my surroundings and to take it all in!

I cannot even imagine what the next three months will be like, except I know that it will be the experience of a lifetime and I will return to the United States better because of it!

You will be in my thoughts daily with the anticipation of wanting to share all that I have learned with all of you back home.

I will write again when I am 4,572.9 miles away in Ghana, Africa!

All My Love,
Steph
